Seven things I have learned (or had crystallized in my head) this past year

In honor of the Jewish New Year, Shana Tova!...

1) If you're more than friends with a person, they are not your friend. Period. Never treat them as such. You'd be a fool to forget.

2) Never ever rely on someone else. Ever. Unless you are completely incapacitated and must.

3) You cannot always count on people, no matter how much you think you can. You cannot. People screw up, they mess up, they have their own lives...sometimes they just don't care as much as you think they do, should, or would.

4) People are inherently selfish.

5) Love is not enough. For anything.

6) Your "firsts" can screw you up for life.

7) The less you care, the less it hurts.
