Some pics from where I'm at...





In Biloxi casinos are one of the major parts of the economy (in fact, Harrah's will be investing in a new casino there). Anyway, until recently, they were not allowed to be built on the land, so they were built on barges along the water. In the first and second photos...we see the barges have been thrown onto the land, tilted or tilting...completely destroyed. Keep in mind, these pics are all nearly four months after the hurricane. Cleanup crews have already cleared the majority of the debris. This is nature at her most psychotic. The final photo is an already cleaned up Shell station, or rather, what is left of it...

If you looked at the casino barge in the second photo, and then turned around, you'd see a picturesque Gulf Coast, with a sandy beach and a (very) few resilient trees...quite a juxtaposition. Later will come pictures of the houses...
